Had a great 5 days off. It seems I was busy the whole time between traveling, working around the house, and doing a little bit of writing. My aunt and cousins made a surprise trip up from N.Y. City on Friday and it was good spending a couple of days with her. She has the beginnings of Alzheimer's and while it did make for a few uncomfortable, albeit, unintentionally humorous moments, she really seemed to enjoy herself.
Last evening over dinner the subject of Neil Young came up. My cousin has tickets to see him next week and I told him that I would give him a few c.d.'s to listen to. Then one of my sisters and one of my brothers also said they love Neil Young and they also wanted a set. And then my brother in law also wanted some Neil Young stuff, but only the old songs. I found myself coming home last night and making 18 c.d.'s for everyone. I was up very late but I got them done. I gave them out at a very early breakfast this morning and everyone was super happy for them. Now I am so tired I can't wait to get to bed, because I am going to see Neil Young tomorrow night in Boston!!! Yay!!!
I did manage to write one review which went up on Saturday (Bleeding The Vein) and I've started on the next book for review. I also managed to write a story for my Writers Club that I just finished. I did not get to work on my Magnum Opus though, which does pain me some. I also made 9 Christmas ornaments from scratch to hand out and I will never do that again in this short a period of time. And I also put up some Christmas lights.
Had a good Thanksgiving, just five of us at a friend's house. But I got some kind of cold/flu thing and I've been sick for the entire weekend and got hardly anything done. Gah.
Jen had laryngitis and got sent home for a week. Top that off with a good healthy dose of food poisoning...She had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Oh well, more food for me. I think it was the glaze recipe that I used. Turned out my mom got sick as well eating the leftovers stuffing. I tried eating the left over stuffing and it didn't taste "right". The glaze called for a 1/2 cup red wine and it got absorbed by the stuffing. Lesson learned. Other than that...It was a quiet Thanksgiving.

How was the concert?
Did he perform Keep on Rockin' in the Free World?

It's years since I've come home deaf from a concert. Might have been Depeche Mode at Preston Guildhall, I'm not sure. (Even going to see Roger Waters last year or the year before, I didn't get it that bad.) Glad you had a good time, Tony!
Cold's not gone away. Rough as a badger's arse this morning.

I think I saw that same show Keith, only in Boston. Palmer was on a rotating drum set that lifted him up in the air and spun him around upside down. They played all of the Tarkus side of the album and snuck in a snippet from Court of the Crimson King. And they played the whole "Welcome Back My Friends" suite from Brain Salad Surgery. I remember the chemical's were flowing very freely that evening...
"But I gave you life!" "What else could you do?" "To do what was right!" "I'm perfect ... are you?" Then the stadium went black, and for that final ascending synth riff white lasers starting shooting everywhere, right into the back of my eyeballs. Ah, those were the days.
They played a bit of "Epitaph" from the first Crimson album, and yes, the "Tarkus" side of Tarkus. Plus all the usual suspects (Take a Pebble and Lucky Man, etc.). The organic hash wasn't bad either, thank you Scott and Frannie.
"Trilogy" for me. But the piece that shows each band member's talents best is, in my opinion, "Pirates" from the first "Works" album. Pete Sinfield lyrics, of course, who also helped Lake out on much of BSS. Yep, tonight I think I will put some vinyl on the turntable and see what those big Sony speakers can do.
