Internet and cable have been disconnected. Still can't get an honest answer about the electric bill. It's gonna be fun to go to judo club tomorrow. Once I get my guv'mint checks, I'll be going to aikido class and to the judo club. She on the other hand, will be working a butt ton of OT to help get the bills paid.

Tom Pic has brain cancer. I can't believe how bad I feel for him right now. He's scheduled for an operation on monday and then two weeks of chemo. He said on F.B. that the tumor is the size of a tennis ball. This is so horrible.

As for Tom, that was a hell of a shock on Friday. Feeling so sorry and helpless along with everyone else. I'll buy some books this weekend. And I hope they can get it all out and he can start to recover asap.

I actually met Patrick Stewart about 20 some years ago at a Star Trek con in Cleveland. For the Trekkers here, it was in summer and the previous season ended with part one of Best Of Both Worlds and the second part hadn't aired yet.

Met Val Kilmer, Dean Cain (who's about the nicest, friendliest person I've ever met) and Eliza Dushku. I had a picture taken with Eliza. She is smoking hot in person.

I took my nephew and his girlfriend with me. He's a big Boondock Saints fan and the two main actors were there. One of them is Norman Reedus, who is on Walking Dead. He didn't get their autographs because Reedus was only signing for VIP ticket holders until almost 5 pm and we were getting pretty tired. Stan Lee was supposed to be there but wound up cancelling due to health reasons (he had a pacemaker put in early this week).

All in all, a pretty fun day. I love going to these. The only problem was Context is this weekend, too, which is a horror/sf/fantasy con and where I get my Gary Braunbeck, Lucy Snyder and Tim Waggoner signed books. I would've liked to have gone and talked to Lucy and Gary about being in Eulogies II with them, but there was absolutely no way in hell I was missing a chance to meet Eliza.

It was a thin Kilmer and not the fat one who was on Numbers a few years ago. Honestly, it really looked like he could've just stepped off the set of Heat. He was a little reserved, but I think this was one of his first cons and didn't know quite what to expect. He signed a lot of stuff related to Tombstone, much more than Batman, and as he was signing while I was in line waiting I could see him visibly relax because of that.

Is there anything worse than sending off a manuscript? I've just spent the last 50 or so hours, with very little sleep, formatting, reformatting, buggering about with the damned thing, writing queries and synopses and whatnot, thinking should I, shouldn't I, it's the best thing ever, it's a pile of crap, hitting send...

And now I want to puke with apprehension and relief.

Life sucks. "Wife" is actively trying to get me to quit school and go back to work. OTOH, our lease is almost up and we can move to a cheaper place that will make it possible for me to save up and get away from her. And apparently it's not cool to READ the transcript of the Obama-Romney debate and check facts because you will never see how Romney "whupped" Obama's butt.
