That's gonna cost a kidney. I would've liked to have seen them on their last tour--they played Moving Pictures in its entirety to celebrate that album's 30th anniversary.

No matter how many times I listen to this, I always wind up hearing something I never heard before, or I have a song affect me in a different way than it did years back.
A trillion years ahead of its time.
(Ttzuma's somewhere in that cover ... I know it ...)

"Jagged" is a 2006 album by Gary Numan, his first original album in over five years, following "Pure" in 2000. Stylistically "Jagged" was a development of its predecessor's chorus-driven, anthemic industrial sound, utilising heavier electronics and more prominent live drumming. Although reaction to the new record was predominantly positive, critical opinion was more heavily divided than had been the case with the almost universal praise enjoyed by "Pure".
Oh, and I forgot to add:

@Grymmscape Kamelot and Theatre of Tragedy are two of my favourites... though not REALLY dark.
My boss has been feeding me 80"s hair metal and bristish wave of metal bands... so most of the Judas Priest i've only had on tape and bands like Krokus and Autograph... ha
But out of my own personal new buys I'm Listening to Dimmu Bogir's Abrahadbra, Iced Earth's Distopia, Arch Enemy's Khaos Legions and Wages of Sin... I have to say Arch Enemy is very quickly becoming one of my new favourites.
My son got me two big Sony speakers and a Denon amp for Christmas, so I could use my old turntable and play those ancient things called LPs. So far my neighbors haven't come knocking, but I like to play my Yes, ELP, King Crimson and Rush very LOUD.
I am always amazed at Steve Howe's guitar work on "Sound Chaser" on this, one of my favorite Yes albums. The Roger Dean cover ain't shabby either.
Wakeman told this story in a podcast interview he did related to the 2009 concert he and a full orchestra and choral section performed at Hampton Court (Henry VIII's home) on the 500th birthday of Henry - When he presented the master tape of this first solo album to A&M executives, one of the big suits said, "Great. When are you adding the vocal tracks? ... Listen, Rick, we need to sell AT LEAST 5 to 10,000 albums to break even, and this one won't even come close." Later that year, at the Gold Record ceremony press event, that same executive whispered in Rick's ear just as he was handed the microphone, "Don't you dare say it!"
I remember when this was first released. A bunch of us sat around and listened to it while abiding. When it was done, we thought it was really cool shit. I haven't listened to this in over 30 years I bet. Should rectify that.
What is "abiding'? Is that New Hampshirese for smoking pot and drinking beer?
The 2009 concert is available on DVD and is very cool. To get enough material for a full concert Wakeman composed three new pieces for it - the original album only ran 36 minutes - and played the full length versions on some of the original six pieces that he had had to edit originally to fit on the LP. This was just two nights of a month-long UK celebration of Henry's 500th, and I think it was great that the old London stuff shirts actually asked Wakeman to do it.
