SLITHER is a book I like. I thought it really marked a return to form for Mr. Edward Lee. I think at one point I had around 8 or 10 of the hardcovers around here as well as the lettered I finally picked up. Most of those are gone now but I have always felt this novel didn't get the recognition it deserved. I don't want to give away any plot points but I buy into the identity of the bad guys. Ed has used this sort of bad guys in several of his early books and I always buy the idea. It works for me. Cool story. I like it.

yes i'm loving the book...a matter of fact it's effected me quite a lot so far...i mentioned in another topic that i was out and about in some deep thick woods in my area doing a geocaching series (basically searching with a gps for containers that other people hide)...and every time i'd hear a stick pop i'd have to stop and look around for about 5 minutes...not to mention the constant checking of my body for "ticks".......haha...i've never been so conscious in the woods before...AWESOME book so far Lee...

The only thing I can say negative about SLITHER is that I wish it had one less group of people in it. I think that took away from the readability and led to some confusion, at least on my part. But by far the worst thing was that god-awful publisher's blurb that still gets printed in descriptions of the novel. It put me off buying a copy right off and that takes some doing!!! I really hate typical scary animal horror. That blurb made the book sound like the worst of the genre!! Glad I made it past that. I had fun reading SLITHER.
Actually, I must say that there were more than a few problems in Slither, too many characters being one of them, too much tech stuff being another, and perhaps too much stuff happening. But ultimately I like the book and hope that the entertaining aspects outweigh these problems, which tend to make a book drag.
I've probably mentioned this in the dim past, but for the longest while I considered writing a sequel which would revolve around, not giant trichinosis worms but buffalo sized spirochetes! (Probably won't write that one, though.)
Thanks for the input. There may be a "sort-of sequel" to Flesh Gothic some day; I've got some ideas flopping around. And now that I think of it, I may do my sequel idea for Slither in novella length. The prospect is just too much fun to push off the table.
Would the possible sequel to Flesh Gothic be connected to You Are My Everything with Westmore investigating the Crafter house? Westmore is one of my favourite characters (Flesh Gothic, The Teratologist) and it would be cool to see him back in a full length novel. It would also be cool to see whats been going on with the Crafter House since The Minotauress as well.
Thanks keep up the good work, hope The Pig movie comes to fruition as well
I would fucking LOVE anything related to a Flesh Gothic sequel. That book just blew me away and it will always be in my Top Lee Favorites. And of course a Slither sequel would be pretty bad ass too.

The notes for a possible sequel are rather disarrayed, but I believe the project starts out with a tour group inspecting the partial ruins of the Hildreth House, and one character find a clue or sorts (a roll of tanned human skin complete with belly button and lady's public patch) that leads the character to a house worse than the Hildreth House. Now you've got me spurred; I'll have to find those notes and see for myself!
Just finished this book, and I loved it! I thought the way the plot threads tied together at the end was brilliant. And talk about a jaw dropping, gonzo ass epilogue!!! This was one of the most fun books I've read yet by Lee. I gave it 4 stars on goodreads.

The ending is devastating. I think I re-read it a couple times, trying to make it different than what it was. Nope, that's what happened. Not too nice!
