I don't think anybody will ever get rich or on any bestseller lists writing hardcore horror stuff but the already published works prove that there is a small but dedicated market for it. I don't know about any magazines that are open to this material but as for publishers, just check with those that have published Ed's books in the past. Necro, Bloodletting, OCP and so on. No idea if you could pitch them an idea for a novel or if you have to submit the whole thing and hope for the best each time.
PS: I thought Piecemeal June was already pretty hardcore when compared to SPB!

Thanks for the input, Wetbones. I know there are the few publishers that have published HH, but from what I can see, they work primarily with established authors who have already written in the subgenre.
And yeah, I guess you're right that Piecemeal June is a bit more hardcore than SPB. But I think PJ is not as dark... at least in my eyes, lol!
Someone should start a magazine devoted to Ed Lee style horror fiction....
