By the way, I just got Ravenous and read the first 100 pages in one sitting. Gotta say, I was not expecting to like it as werewolf stories are usually quite dull or hokey. But you nailed it from page one with taut storytelling and believable characters. So far, I love it. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Which leaves me with the one key question, Ray. Where can I find your older work? This is the third novel of yours that I've read and now want to get some of the earlier stuff. I prefer buying new as I like to keep my books in great shape, so any recommendations, please let me know.

Hi, Undead. I'm glad you're enjoying RAVENOUS! Unfortunatley, a lot of my stuff is hard to find. 54 books, and most of them are out of print. A lot of them are quickly-written movie novelizations and TV tie-ins, so you're not missing anything there. But most of my novels and collections are out of print. Many never got published beyond limited editions, which can still be found on eBay, ABE Books, and at book stores and bookselling websites that specialize in genre material. The problem is, a lot of them are VERY expensive. At some point in the last 25 years of writing, I became very collectible, and as a result, dealers tend to double or triple (often even more than that) the cover prices once the books go out of print (of course, I don't see any of THAT money). A mint-condition copy of the original 1987 Pocket paperback edition of LIVE GIRLS goes for four to five hundred bucks. The British hardcover of that book goes for even more. I've seen the original Charnel House edition of THE NEW NEIGHBOR going for as much as $1,500. I'll be putting up more of my own stuff on eBay, so you might want to keep checking my auctions. The Bantam paperback edition of SHACKLED (I have two listed on eBay right now) are very hard to come by. So are the other titles I've listed this time out. Cemetery Dance is about to release my latest collection, SLIVERS OF BONE, and if you can afford the CD price, I recommend you grab that while it's available, before the price shoots up. Also, you might want to try bidding on the Subterannean Press edition of SEX AND VIOLENCE IN HOLLYWOOD (the only edition available right now), which I've listed on eBay (and I'll be listing several more in the near future) -- the book is in the works as a movie, and the Subterannean edition is out of print and will probably become a pricey collectible in the future. Keep checking your local used bookstores -- you might tell the people who work there to let you know if any of my titles come through. Thanks for the interest and happy hunting!

Hey, undead, check amazon.com, lots of older Garton novels on there. Real older ones are used, but when you want to complete your collection of a favorite author, sometimes you have to grab 'em used.
