Writing Updates

I just love it when a head explodes like that.

There are tons of 'how to' books on writing out there, but the one I read over and over is On Writing by Stephen King<an up and coming author sure to make it big one day ...

He advises everyone should get at least 2,000 words a day written. And that you should write every day-maybe one day off out of the week-and that you should get to the point where if you don't, you should feel guilty about it.
This was a great book. Even if you know many of the points he makes, it's a good read and come on, the guy must know something about the craft after selling a zillion books every year.
I find that the more I read and write, the better I become. You have to make time to read a lot. I'm a firm believer in that.
Anyone have any strange methods you want to share, it would be cool to hear them.

Novel number four, huh, well that's cool. I'm on a short story binge, just sent the final draft of one out the other day. I try for 2,000 words a day, but it's more like only one right now. Hey, we all can't be like that dude up in Maine.

Everyone here got my juices flowing and I brought out the laptop last night after I got my daughter to bed. I managed a few thousand words and wrote well past my bed-time.

I intend to make this a nightly practice until I finish my two works in process, both hovering around the 60k word count mark. It kills me to leave them undone and I've procrastinated far too long. And I would rather write tired between ten PM and 1 AM than not at all anyday!
