Angry Robot are closing down their YA and crime imprints due to market over-saturation. Business must be tough.

Gods, if I had a dollar for every person that told me to drop Horror and Fantasy and write YA or Crime... Thankfully I've also been given advice along the lines of ignoring current market trends and just writing what I want to write.

Not easy to know what to do for the best. Checked Absolute Write this afternoon; some of those imprint authors are understandably distraught, as are the folks at AR, I should imagine. Sounds like their main publishing arm is fine. Nonetheless, tough times.

Here's the problem with that news about Angry Robot--I had absolutely no idea that they had a crime imprint and only vaguely remembered they did YA.

And what about that horse, Flounder?

I'm a little frustrated because I can't find Maynard's wine in Alabama,much less anywhere near Alabama. Alabama sucks that way.

On the up side, I did have an excellent beer and wings last night. Avondale Brewing's Peach Saison and Saw's wings (which are baked then fried and draped in BBQ sauce and a little white sauce, delicious)

We took off today with our bicycles and a picnic. A fun ride and sammiches by the creek, then a little wading in some ice cold water. So sunny, warm and beautiful. We did this a lot when we first got married, I've missed simple fun like this.
Now we're home and sipping a beer, playing Borderlands 2 Game of the Year addition. It was $10. Can't beat that! The beer, on the other hand, was more. But delicious.

It was beautiful here today. 85° hi. Low humidity. I feel asleep on my swing, for about 10 minutes. Cut some grass. Ran a few errands. Did some chores. Damn, it's good to be a gangsta, um, I mean housewife.

Re. orEGGano/oreGAHno, I always trip up on American herb pronunciation. I've not quite got to grips with the aforementioned, or URRRRB, instead of HERb. And I always sigh with relief when I hear Gordon Ramsey say BASil, as opposed to BAYsil. It's just different ways, no biggie.
