I was venting based on something I read. A woman didn't care for Bentley Little because he killed an animal in one of his stories. I thought it ironic that she didn't mention some of the other scenes in other stories like a woman urinated on, children dying, and so on. Maybe it's me, I don't know.

I just wrote a draft of a story where a few cats and a kitten are sacrificed. I guess I am doomed.

I also think some people in real life get more upset about violence to animals than they do to violence against other humans.

I think you are right Craig.

Besides, it's fiction. Make believe. Not any more real than the romance scenes in most novels, the superhero's saving the day, or women taking a shower in under five minutes.

Wasn't there a joke years ago about how you could kill the wife and family of the Chuck Norriss' character in a film but God help you if you touch his dog?
