Very nice, Rob.

I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again. All cross-sections of the genre should exist together, which makes the disdain for your work baffling. If I want to read something relatively straightforward and light, I know where to go. If I want something deeper and more challenging, again I know where to go. If you don't want to read something, then don't. If you don't like something you're reading, then put the book down and move on. Constructive criticism is always welcome. It's too hard to read in front of the tv isn't.

Oh, and that bit about The Streets? Oh, hell yes.

Would I be correct in guessing that seriousness of intent also covers whether someone is writing a book strictly for entertainment purposes versus someone writing a book to make the reader think and contemplate and maybe play with the reader's perceptions of the story?
