Hello everyone, new to the board. I;m also a somewhat new Lee fan. I read a couple of his leisure books a couple years ago but recently have been reading through everything I can get my hands on by him.

So I have a question about The Pig for Mr. Lee, or for anyone that may know.

Where did you get the idea for the elephantitus scene? That was insanely gross. Haha. I loved the novella though, and was stoked about all the King Crimson references (one of my favorite bands). So yea over the course of the last couple weeks i've read eleven of your books and haven't been dissapointed yet. I'm about to start header 2!

Oink oink! The Pig has a special place in my heart, it was my first encounter with Mr Lee, I had bought BCB and BTTF collections but read this first. To say I was blown away is an understatement.

What other Lee have you read? I loved Bighead/Header & Header 2/Family Traditions and far too many others to mention.

In a way I'd rather not know where Ed gets some of his ideas.

When I first checked him out a couple years ago I read Monstrosity, The Black Train, and Flesh Gothic. I enjoyed M and TBT and loved FG.

Recently i've read a lot. Ghouls, Succubi, Incubi, Coven, Header, The Pig/The House, Goon, The Bighead, Messenger, Creekers and Slither. I'm a little more than halfway through Header 2 which is laugh out loud hilarious and disgsuting.

The Pig was the first of his small print stuff I read. Right from that opening line it gets ya.

I loved Creekers. I do like any of Ed Lee's redneck stuff. I did think with Header 2 more than any of his other work 'I am going to hell, there is no way I should find this funny' I dont know what it is, he can write truely gross stuff but manages to bring a smile to your face at the same time.

I would say if you haven't picked it up yet get hold of Family Traditions or Haunter of the Threshold.

Yes, some very good bands mentioned in The Pig, King Crimson in particular. Wasn't Van der Graaf Generator in it, too?

Way back when, I recall reading about a Mapplethorp photo where a man was sticking his thumb into another man's penis, then I read something else about birth defects of the genitals that very very few people suffer; one was ecto vaginal somethingi or other where a woman has a huge vagina, and there was another similar affliction where a man's penis develops into a huge mass of non erectable flesh, so I decided to modify that (and made it erectable!) and, yes,King Crimson and Van der Graaf are near and dear to me, and were what I was listening to obsessively in 1977 when I believe The Pig takes place.
