Just finished OUT OF WHACK last night (I'm rationing my remaining unread Strand stuff), and it was outstanding!! Literally laugh-out-loud funny in many, many places... definitely got some weird looks from my husband during the reading of this one! Question. Disclaimer aside  , was the character of Mike Garrett inspired by a real person/experience?

Thanks! I don't hear about OUT OF WHACK all that often, so it's always nice when somebody says they enjoyed it.

Yes, I enjoyed it tremendously. The Table of Contents and Special Bonus For Students alone are funnier than some so-called comedy novels I've read. And, for some reason, I could easily picture the young Seth running with Elrod.
