I've posted a few article about classic horror writers over at The Vintage Horror site over the past few months. If you are interested I've posted their links below: William Hope Hodgson wrote several stories with his paranormal detective Carnacki The Ghost Finder. I give a brief synopsis on each of those stories by Hodgson. Carnacki has recently been used as a member of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic book. Carnacki the Ghost Finder Article: Oliver Onions wrote several spooky tales including one that H.P. Lovecraft and Algernon Blackwood claimed was one of the best English ghost stories ever written, "The Beckoning Fair One". This article covers that story and some other Onions tales. Oliver Onions Article: Robert Bloch did a lot more than just write the novel Psycho. He corresponded regularly with H.P. Lovecraft, writing several stories in his Mythos. He also produced his own radio program called "Stay Tuned For Terror". He wrote for The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Start Trek, Tales From The Darkside, Thriller and more. Robert Bloch Article: |
