I'm this close (he said in his best Maxwell Smart voice) to finishing a horror novel. It looks like it's going to clock in at 90 K, but it wants to be longer.

Then I have to attack DE3 again (sorry for the delay, Dave).

The next novel was going to be REAPER ROAD, a fast and furious story of rednecks, rock and roll, cannibals and magic. That's going to be pushed back a couple of months because a publisher has expressed interest in another novel, one with a specific setting. It's going to be a short novel, and I really would like to finish it before the end of the year.

I also just accepted an invitation to another anthology based on a licensed pulp character. I have to work on that early in 2010. I'm really trying to scale back on my commitments next year to focus on novels, but I couldn't say no to this project.

And it looks like Michael Knost and I are going to editing another anthology together. I'm supposed to be working on the guidelines at this very moment.

So what are you doing?

I'm writing on the article for this months Vintage Horror posting. It's close to being done. It's going to be on Robert W. Chambers this month. I'm also going to start preliminary work on a submission for the POH Christmas story. Good luck with the novel and short storys Mark! Sounds like you will be busy. I have great respect for anyone who can write a novel. I wrote the first draft for one once and did the NaNoWriMo thing for part of another and found I don't think I'm suited for it. I like to switch ideas too much. :)
