Nanci's last Horrorfind. They have so de-emphasized the authors ![]() Dallas and Lee were great. Paul Wilson and Tom Monteleone were they're usual charming selves but there just wasn't enough to keep a book lover happy. Michael Biehn was a total jerk and Roddy Piper needed a security detail (WTF?). The only nice guys were Jay from Saw III, Christopher Sarandon, Tony Todd and Ken Foree. You didn't miss much Mark. |

Nanci, Sorry I missed this one - it's always a treat to see ya! Sorry to hear about your cold - hope you're feeling better! I've been up North with the family on vacation, checking out Boston and some sea-side towns in Maine. The bookstores I've snuck off to have been from hunger for the most part, until I went to this really neat place today called the Big Chicken Barn Books & Antiques. It claims to be the largest antiquarian book dealer in Maine, and I can't disagree. A quirky, fun place that I wish I had more time to explore. I snagged great copies of both of Tom Piccirilli's westerns, Ray Russell's Sagittarius, Stanley Ellin's Quiet Horror, Charles Grant's Something Stirs, Hugh B. Cave's The Restless Dead, and Graham Masterton's The Sphinx. I also picked up yet another anthology for my collection, called Suddenly (Great Stories of Suspense and the Unexpected), edited by Marvin Allen Karp and Irving Settel (1965). Tomorrow, we're swinging by Bangor, to check out the batwings on the iron gate in front of SK's place, and to check out Betts Bookstore. Wish I actually had enough cash to buy a signed copy or three - but you never know... I'm not quite ready to write off Horrorfind just yet - I've met too many great folks over the last three years to turn my back on it (that, and the fact that it's practically in my backyard!) Let's hope they can right the ship for the next one. Jim |

Jim, It's well worth the visit if you can fit it in. Even if you don't find anything you want to buy he has quite a few old pulp novels, originals that are just fun to look at. Plus Chester and his wife are great, even had me in for lunch one day. Enjoy your time in Maine! Dave |
