Hi Guys. A few weeks ago my radio station lost our entire computer network in a massive crash. That eliminated all of our programming elements -- music, commercials, etc -- some of it was backed up, some of it not so much. We had to go old school for a couple of weeks (playing CDs, reading live spots) until our new system could be built and shipped. Then we went through installation and training. The new system is really cool, like getting a Ferrari after driving a Flintstones car. So we're still in the process of working out the bugs, rebuilding the formats and restoring data. As part of the process I got a new laptop, a Dell with a huge hard drive and mega-memory. This makes my old work laptop look like a tortoise. And the reason I got a Dell was I could order it with XP installed. Too many of my computer-savvy friends warned me off Vista. That's where I've been. In retrospect, Nanci's torture dungeon might have been preferable. |
