So what are you non-convention goers doing this weekend? I'm attending a charity event with my wife this morning. It should last only an hour or so. A little shopping follows, then it's home, where I'll try to do a little writing. Also, I've talked Norma into watching the Hellboy animated DVD tonight. But I've got three days off from work. I promised myself I would get caught up on reading. Maybe a few of the gazillion books I've ordered will show up in the mail. I also have the latest issues of Cemetery Dance and Weird Tales (a Joe Lansdale special) that I've already started. Sunday my brother and I will get together to watch a horror flick. Don't know yet what we'll be viewing. Monday: sleep late, read, write. That's my plan, anyway. What's yours? |

I've got to run out and help a freind move some furniture and stuff that belong to his mother, from out of a spare room so he can take it to her new place. Plus I'm on call for the water company this weekend, so I could get called out at any time. I've got to run though, I'm supposed to be at my friends house two minutes ago. Got to run. |

Thanks, Mark. I got almost 2,000 words today and really made a good deal of progress. I have to let the next part fester in my mind a bit before I continue on though. I'm pretty happy with what I have so far. There is a section I wrote last weekend that I like, but that is fast becoming a part of the story that is unnessessary, and sort of out of place now. Too bad, I did like the interaction between the two characters there, but it's the only time the one character has shown up before or since, and nothing vital happens in the scene so I'm going to have to cut it. Have any of you out there ever written a scene that you really liked in something, and then had to cut it (I'm sure you have, everyone who writes has), and which one can you think of that was the hardest to do so with? |

As the old saying goes, when it comes to revisions, you have to murder your darlings. |

Just spent the better part of my afternoon backing up my files (again) so my PC can get repaired on Monday (again). My mother had an accident last week, fortunately nothing serious but she has a bandaged hand so gotta take care of a lot of cooking and shopping and other domestic chores for her. Other from that I want to read some and just try to get some rest. Cesar |

Watched Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms last night. We both liked it. Then I tried to get Norma to watch Silent Hill, but she bailed after the first half. I liked this when I saw it in the theater (a minority position, I know) but last night I realized that the film is burdened with much suckage. My wife is the smart one in this couple. |

I have to tell you, I did like Silent Hill. I even bought it on DVD. I don't play video games, so I didn't go in knowing anything about it other than the trailers, but I like alot of really weird stuff, and that movie did have that at least. We watched a movie called Spirit Trap last night. It wasn't bad for a straight to video movie. I like the idea of the spirit clock (a large grandfather clock full of gears and dials that opens the door between the spirit world and the real world). I'm not going to rush out and buy it or anything but It was worth watching once. |

I watched CHILDREN OF MEN last night. Not bad, but not really my thing. |
