Well shit fire...

I've been having what I thought might be TIA (pre-stroke) symptoms over the last few months (again) and my neurologist has confirmed it today. The blood vessel in my brain has closed even further around the stent that is already in there to keep it open (well, trying I guess) and my right arm has been heavy recently, as well as some recent light-headed/dizzy episodes. There are two options to fix it....a balloon to open the stent or a complete blood vessel bypass of some sort, which sounds really, really ugly. During the angiogram today, as the doc was taking pictures, I heard him say "Wow" on two occasions--not a good Wow, but a holy-shit-that's-a-narrow-blood-vessel wow!

While the news sucks, it has given me the next 4 days off....and an opportunity to sit on my ass and complete the first draft of Bleeding the Vein, so I am pretty excited about that!

So off I go to spit out some word count for the evening....

Never mind completing the draft....go get fixed! And next time....don't be waiting 2 months before you get checked out!

Please let us know which way you decide to go...when you're going in...and if the operation goes well let us know that too. (If it doesn't go well, you can tell us if you want, but I prefer you lie about it and let us think you're fine.)

Seriously, we all want you to get better. Besides, I've got a bottle of scotch, a fine cigar, and a goat waiting for you in New Hampshire when you decide to retire up here. If you wait too long....well...I'm pretty sure the goat will still be here anyway.

Good luck on completing the first draft. The second draft has always been the hardest part for me.

Take care Tim. Don't forget to keep us updated.

Tony

Thanks for the kind words, Tony, I really appreciate it! It's weird, because 95% of the time I feel fine, I run 5 times a week and generally feel good, but the potential for "sudden incapacitation" is always there. Hard part is that symptoms are weeks in between and hard to tell if it's just me thinking they are there or if it is a concern. Since I saw the pattern starting, I mentioned it to the doc and they wasted no time getting me in.

I'd love to take you up on the cigar and scotch....hell, I'd even pet the goat!!

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the concern.

Back to the draft...

Tim
