Damn, sorry it took me so long to get on the board. I got back from MD last Tuesday but was so swamped I couldn't get on till now. Foremost, here's a Dunwich Romance update: it's now over 45k words and nearing completion. I just wrote the last sex scene in the book and, well, let's just say that it highlights Wilbur Whateley's "creativity" concerning his ministrations members of the opposite sex. In essence, I suppose I'm a decent writer though possessed of my fair share of faults, indulgences, and lapses of discipline; however, I will assert this: this sex scene is one of the best "alien" sex scenes ever written. There! I've said it! Pompous, aren't I? I'm certain that any women who read this scene will spontaneously climax. What's left now is a final "keynote" scene (some local scumbags decide to break into Wilbur's house while he's away. They think that he hides the family gold in the house but, lo, what they find instead, of course, is "that One inside." They also find Wilbur's girlfriend in the tool-shed and...get more than they bargained for...in grand style.) After this will be Wilbur's off-stage final trek to Miskatonic U. to try to steal the Necronmonicon which, as we know, fails. Then the ending, which I think everyone will like! When I'm done I will immediately begin my novel length Header 3 (which will probably be called HEADS). I CAN'T WAIT to write this! Also, as I mentioned in a previous thread, I just last week had a cyclonic creative brainstorm and have notated several more really primo novel/novella ideas. I really am very lucky to be in this position of not yet burning out; I'm also very grateful, to you all and all my other supporters for keeping me in business. THANK YOU! I'll try to get back on the board tomorrow, then I leave for MD Tuesday, and should be back on March 22. Though I'm able to get only a smidgen of writing done in MD, I'm sure I'll be able to progress Dunwich so more. Best wishes, as always! Edward Lee |

Great news all the way around Ed! I love the "pompousness" about your alien sex scene, and really look forward to reading Dunswich Romance. Sounds like its going to be a hell of a good read. |

Great news! Cant wait for this one as well as Witch Water. Looks like its gonna be a great year for us Lee fans! Don't know how you keep pushing them out with all the traveling you seem to be doing. Have a safe trip and thanks for keeping us entertained. |

Thanks, all, for your compliments! I got back from MD last night and am happy to report that Dunwich Romance is past 50k words and nearing completion. I have one "keynote" scene left to write; it'll be very hard, so I suspect it'll take several days, then the offstage final event of Wilbur (if you'll recall from the original HPL story, Wilbur dies via the jaws of the guarddog at the Miskatonic Library), then the epilogue. I think there are some real brain-bender scenes in this! The best thing is knowing my creative enthusiasm hasn't slipped a bit with age; the second I'm finished with Dunwich, I jump right into Header 3. What a joy writing it! Thats awesome. I can hardly wait for Header 3. Header(the movie) was great, also looking forward to the re-release of Header(the book). |
