Bloodletting announced a contract with Ed for 7 books in the next three years!

That's great. Just saw it myself. Wouldn't be surprised if Dunwich Romance is going to be one of them.

Also good to see that Witch Water and the Going Monstering paperback will be coming soon.

I can't think of a more exciting announcment.

You know I love me some Lee. And I love me some Bloodletting. Together? How much more could one ask for?

When I got this email, it was like Christmas. Great news.

Lee said Dunwich Romance was coming out from Bad Moon in the NEWS AND DUNWICH PROGRESS thread. And Larry at Bloodletting said on his message board at the Keenedom that the trade pb of Going Monstering and the limited hc of Witch Water are not part of the 7 book deal.

Apart from the overall awesomeness of the announcement I'm also very pleased to see that WITCH WATER is now an official title. Ed has always said that it was only the working title and that it would surely change but maybe it was just Leisure who had a problem with the title and now that they're out of the picture that no longer matters. I think it's a cool title and I look forward to a nice hardcover of the book.

Will there be digital releases to accompany these new Bloodletting titles. I usually can't afford limited editions. Ebooks tend to be better for my budget and that's usually the way I go when it's an option.

I love the feel of a quality hardcover. It is a part of the overall experience of getting lost in a great story. I imagine I will find the ability to get lost in a story using an eReader. At this point I want my Ed Lee reading to be in the best format possible.
The amount of time I have available for reading has greatly diminished. I am even more critical of poorly constructed stories. I finish very few books.
Lee, Pic, Hodge and a few others deliver on a consistant basis. I applaud these authors and support them by purchasing their output in an expensive format.
Larry Roberts has done wonderful work with his imprints and I look forward to this continued relationship w/ Ed.
The torture will continue until morale improves!

Yes, just when I thought the recession was going to bite a chunk out of my butt, I get this deal plus some others. Wetbones: yes, I much prefer this title too; I STILL don't know what Leisure will call their trade pb and digital edition. Bryan, all of these titles will be inexpensive trade pbs a year after the hc's come out, and also digital after that.

I can't think of a reason why I shouldn't say what some of the titles will be for this deal, so I will. (It's tentative info, of course):
1) Header 3 (will probably be entitled HEADS)
2) White House Gothic (a novel version of Haunted House, with substantially more story)
3) The Guest House (likely a long novella; contemporary)
4) Whatever I decide to call my Colour Out of Space sequel;( contemporary)
5) The Tenant of Bitton House (a super hardcore sequel to M.R. James' Haunted Dolls House.
6) Not sure, could be one of several outlined concepts.
7) The Cellars of Ranxton Wood (a hardcore M.R. James tribute/pastiche where I will try to sound like James but is not a sequel.

1 and 2 will be full length novels at least 75k words each. The remainder will be longish novellas, in the 45k word range.

NOTE: The first 4 are pretty definite, but the remaining 3 may be supplanted by one of several other "brainstorm" ideas that I got and notated recently. Thank God, whenever I think I might be running out of ideas for down the road, more really cool ideas plow into my head!

Thanks for your interest!

Edward Lee
