Friends: problems have delayed my return to Florida; sorry I didn't get back on the board when I said I would. I'm happy to say that the problems first seemed nearly insurmountable but turned out not to be. In the past I've bellyached a bit about not being able to write nearly as much now due to helping my mother's advanicng health problems, HOWEVER, last week, I got a stream of GREAT NOVELLA ideas. Between my extended periods of being in Maryland, then Leisure's dilemmas, and--of course--getting friggin' OLDER, I was beginning to feel washed up for new ideas (perhaps even for as long as the past year. But--MAN!--I'm SET for a year or even two with ideas now. I'm so excited, I feel giddy! I'll tell you more about these ideas as they get closer to commencement. (I think I've mentioned, after I'm done with my draft of The Pig screenplay - I'm on page 30 - I get back to Dunwich Romance, then, probably Header 3. Unless I get some inconceivable mass market offer, I'd planned to start Mr. Torso's Daughter or a few older ideas, but now I'm thinking I'll jump into one of the new ones. (It'll really be outrageous!) Thanks very much for your support and good wishes. You all are the most dynamite fans an author could ever ask for. Best, Edward Lee |

You said you would be back in FL for a week starting Sept 9 but not that you would immediately get back on the board on Sept 9. So no need to apologize  Glad to hear your situation is improving. And of course good to hear about new ideas for upcoming projects. |

Busy with stuff is one thing but, getting older isn't going to have anything to do with your writing finesse -if anything, I've found your works gotten nothing but better over time.- You my friend are one of the only authors that I make sure to pick up. Why? Because your works are the best I've read. Testify!!! P.S. I hope all goes well with your mothers health! |

As always, thanks for your good wishes! Re: The Pig, there's no deal already signed but--so not to jinx the project--reponse has been "interesting" thus far. I'm only on page 30 of the redraft but with any luck I'll be done in a month. Then it will be redrafted by a cowriter (who will also function as the exec producer) and we'll see what happens. As gross and scatological as The Pig is, I'm confident it can be done with an r-rating. Also, it's LOTS of fun writing! Later! Edward Lee |
