CD has done it again. While you and your fans wait VERY patiently for The Innswich Horror from CD publications, they decide to push everything aside (including several books promised years ago - In Laymon's Terms one of them) to publish a new King novel. It doesn't make sense, and it pisses me off. If they can rush out a book by King, what is that saying about you and other authors that they don't, or can't, or won't complete? It ain't right. It's fucked up is what it is. Bob |

It is all about new money. Printing promised and paid for books doesn't put new money in the bank. Anyway, let's hope the vast zombie legions of King fans all buy multiple copies and help CD get solvent for a couple months. This might actually help us get our desired books. I saw a breakdown of book publishing costs a while ago. I doubt CD would spend more than 3 or 4 bucks a copy printing a trade King. So............ |

Dude, I agree completely. I have spent hundreds of dollars over the years buying my special edition books, including quite a bit from CD Pubs. I preordered Mr Darkness by Clegg and naturally with CD they charge a preorder and I am STILL waiting for that...and it has been 3 years, I think. Late last year I emailed them because honestly, I wanted to cancel and get my money back....but they told me that Clegg was writing it (what? considering he posted material from it a few YEARS ago) and that it would hopefully be out soon.... I understand how small-press publishing works and CD puts out quality product....but I don't think I will be spending my hard-earned money with them when it takes this long. I'd rather give my money to Necro, Bloodletting, etc. Perhaps CD should reconsider charging on preorders and do it when the book is actually published. |

Bob ~ I am so glad you posted this just so others are aware. I consider myself a very patient person and not once have I openly blasted CD even though I have several titles with them preordered for (what to me is) alot of money. But, this has bothered me as well. I really, really hope this title comes out soon. It is another one of my most anticipated releases. I also hope the lettered edition doesn't take forever to come out after the limited edition is released. |
