Hi all!

New Edward Lee fan here, looking for suggestions. I have read Shifters, Black Train, Header 2, Bighead, The Pig/House, Golem, and am just starting Creekers. I really loved most of them, and I have to admit, I like the real shocking ones (Bighead, Header, etc). I'm sorry, I'm not real into the Sci-Fi aspect, so I'm wondering if there are any others I should get that I would enjoy. I figured you guys would know!

I'm glad I found this board through Jack Ketchum's message board, it seems the official website hasn't been updated for awhile. I look forward to hearing your input!

Hi KK, welcome!

One of the extreme books I'd suggest is GAST, which is the "hardcore" version of Black Train. It was published by Camelot Books and may or may not be OOP. You may also like his other chapbooks such as Partners in Chyme and Room 415, both from Necro. Partners is a little harder to find, but a hilarious read. Room 415 was brutal, ergo, I thoroughly enjoyed it, lol. I have, but haven't read, Trolley 1852, from Bloodletting Press which is part of Lee's Lovecraft canon.

Some of his mass markets have been excellent reads too. Not quite as brash as the small press stuff, but they go a lot farther than many writers in that market. Two I can heartily recommend are Flesh Gothic and The Chosen. Both have great characters and some out-there scenes.

Now, can I ask you a question? Where can I get Header 2????? I've kept an eye out for its release but somehow must've missed it.

I'd have to suggest you get a copy of "The Minotauress". Very fun read. And it has Dicky and Balls from "The Bighead" in it too.

Man o man. So much good reading ahead of you. I would say my personal favorite is the Infernal series. That was what introduced me to lee. I also really enjoyed Teratoligist with Wrath James White. That is another great one. Pretty much, I have never read anything that I don't like. A hardcore one, but is expensive now is Haunter of the Threshold. I strongly, STRONGLY recommend Portrait of the Psychopath as a Young Woman. It is one that blew me away.

But yeah, you can't miss. Oh, almost forgot Ever Nat and Mr. & Miss Torso. Yep. Those too. ;)

WOW! Thanks for all of your suggestions! I definitely have some reading to do! I'm thinking I should order Going Monstering, too.

I thought "You Are My Everything" was Header 2. Am I wrong on this? This was an awesome little book, weird sick stuff, just how I like it! I never read the first Header, but I did see the movie, which made me buy some Edward Lee books! I am now a big fan! :v

Hi, I thought I would put my thoughts in too, being female as well :) I actually thought that Ever Nat was a tad bit more directed to females considering that the 'victim' (for lack of a better word) is male in this case.

But anyway, I too would recommend Gast, and Trolley No 1852 (I couldn't stop smiling while reading that one). Those are my 2 faves.

My personal recommendations are the Infernal series and Flesh Gothic for the cheaper paperback books and then The Minotauress, Gast, and Family Tradition for the pricier more hardcore stuff. But rest assured, EVERYTHING by Lee is a good read. I think I speak for everyone here when i say that. If you have any questions about books or whatever, this is the place to ask em!

KK: sorry it took me so long to welcome you to the board and thank you for your support. My friends have previously enlightened you very well. As for You Are My Everything, yes, it's just a header tie-in story, and I suspect there will be more along those lines periodically. Still not sure of the release date for Header 2 (it's a pretty fat full length novel) but I can tell you the signature sheets are done and so is the artwork and final proof, so I don't think it'll be too far off. If you like the nasty stuff, you'll like that. I'm also quite partial to Minotauress and The House, some of whose scenes made me ashamed of myself! Thanks so much for your support!
