In the 'Announcements' section, the most of the 2010 Leisure books have been posted. Edward Lee's Witch Water is set for an October release. Can someone please refresh my memory on what this one is about. Oh and I thought The Sixtus was getting a Leisure release. What gives? I'm kind of disappointed, usually there are 2 Lee releases but there's only 1 in 2010? Pssshhh.... And one other question, will there be hardcover versions of Witch Water and The Sixtus? Just wondering. |

It must be a mistake cos my next Leisure release is Lucifer's Lottery (formerly The Sixtus) though I don't know the actual release date (I would guess later summer 2010). 10 months or so after that should be the release of Witch Water (this title, too, is being changed, though I'm not yet sure to what. I was thinking of Deviltry.) In Witch Water, I'll be paying a contemporary homage to M R James by sort of sequelizing his old tale "View from a Hill." But you can rest assured it will be Edward Lee-style. I'll try to find out the actual release dates. Thanks for your interest, Edward Lee |

Both of these will be scooped up and moved to the top of the TBR pile when they come out. I have no idea how you continue to crank out these great tales at such fast rates, but good God, I am glad you do. Keep us posted on any plans for hardcover releases. I know, I am just being greedy. |

Nothing better than getting 2 mass market novels a year from Lee...then the assorted small press titles as well...lots of good horror in the coming months. |

Thanks much, folks. Yes, I am keeping busy (knock on wood!) Btw, I just finished my sequel script for HEADER. It's a completely different story from HEADER 2. I think it's pretty good! Later! Edward LEe |

Wow, channeling Mr. James and filtering it through your, er, more-modern imagination?? I LOVE how your sending out homages to all the classic horror guys! Any Machen or Blackwood updates down the road?? |

Right now I'm still so obsessed with HPL and James, but who knows what the future holds. On a plane recently I re-read "The Willows" for the first time in ages--very cool. I do have a prejudice against Blackwood, however: he bad mouthed Lovecraft once. Not cool! Maybe I'll have HPL and Blackwood meet in the afterlife... Edward Lee |

Really???????? What was Blackwood's beef w/ HP? I'd never heard that before. And after HP named "The Willows" his favorite weird tale of all time. Niiiiiiiiiice. ![]() |

I never heard that about Blackwood, either. Crazy. |

Yes, Blackwood said a few times he didn't regard HPL as much more than a hack. But the proof is in the pudding. HPL remains in nearly every bookstore to this. Blackwood...not so much. Later, and hhappy new year! Edward Lee |
