Just got the hardcover and finished it in 2 nights! Jesus fucking christ was it nasty! I think it has usurped the throne of The Bighead as my favorite Lee book/nastiest thing I've ever read. I think the nasty bits in it were less over the top than the Bighead and that made them much more grotesque. It seemed a lot more disciplined in it's description of nastiness than The Bighead too which was nice. The whole novel flowed very well and kept me entertained throughout. |

Man I love that book...I remember when I first bought the book some people at work got a hold of it. Needless to say, I don't think anyone made it past the first page. |

I used to respect a guy who works in a local Fantasy/horror/sf/comix bookstore. I used to respect him. He even read Stokoe's COWS and bought a copy off me. But he couldn't get past the first page of FAMILY TRADITION. What a wimp. Go read Harry Potter ya wimp. |

Thanks for the kind words, folks. One of these days, Family Tradition will be reprinted. I'll have to get on that as well as contact John Pelan. the book was a blast writing! Later, Edward Lee |

It's sort of funny because I've tried to order Family Tradition at a few different websites and it's always on backorder...I have it on order now at Buy.com but it's been on backorder for a few weeks now...I don't know why it's so hard to get ahold of ![]() |

Sorry it's so tough to get. Wish I could tell you when a pb reprint will be available. For a h/c, you might want to check Camelot Books--they might have one. I think I have a few in storage in MD but finding them is quite another story. I'll start looking into pb reprints. FT was a fun collab, which gave me a chance to explore Northwest rednecks, while HAUNTER features some pretty interesting New England 'necks. I'm pretty sure that HEADER 3 will boast Florida rednecks. I'm covering all bases! Later! Edward Lee |

YaY for ebay, I bought "Family Tradition" along with "Weed Species", "The Crossings", & "Sleep Disorder" for $52, great deal for all 4 signed books! I read "Family Tradition" about a week ago. I planned on reading a chapter or 2 the 1st night but ended up reading half the book cuz i couldn't put it down. The next day, i finished it. Ed, u have a sick, disturbed mind & I love it! I will never forget that book! I was telling my friend about the book (she is a big baby, afraid of horror) and she said she dreamed about what i told her! |

Goregirl: thanks very much. If you liked FT I have a grim feeling you'll really like HAUNTER, GOING MONSTERING, and HEADER 2. Thanks for your support! Edward Lee |

Mr. Lee, I just got through with reading this yesterday and have to say it was fantastic! It never ceases to amaze me at how disgusting or disturbing you can write a scene. One things for sure. I'll never look at bloodworms the same way again. Adam |
