Ed, Just wanted to give a shout-out to this older Lee title that I started reading yesterday (actually, I ordered this from CD quite a while ago and haven't read it yet) and I'm halfway through it. Even though this novel has none of the trademark hardcore sex and violence (halfway through it, anyway), this is a REALLY good story so far, kinda like an X-Files-ish type novel without Agents Mulder and Scully. I have Operator B as well and will probably read that soon, since it was somewhat related, content-wise... |

Update: Just finished the book and I really enjoyed it, man! Not the usual Lee horror novel but I very much liked it, though...as I said, kinda like an X-Files-ish type Lee story. And I loved the character of Harlan Garrett. (And the rogue gov't assassin, Sanders, was one evil bastard) Well done, Ed! |

I'm glad you liked 'The Stickmen'. I loved it as well. That and 'Operator B' are 2 of my favs from Mr. Lee. I like when Ed steps out of the horror genre. He has amazing talent, and the 2 books mentioned are incredibly intelligent and suspenseful. I actually wish he would do more, but I don't think he gets the following with these types as books as he does his horror. Bob |

Here is my CNN review of OPERATOR B by Mr. Lee. It is a two parter and Lee's story is the latter half of the review.. http://archives.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/bo ... index.html |

Thanks bigtime for the kind words on these older projects. The backstory is, at the time, I knew some people who had pitch-access to the X-Files and Outer Limits, so actually both of these books were originally teleplays. They didn't get in obviously but I liked the stories so much I novelized them. Harlan may have a cameo in a future book...though I'm not sure how well he will fare! Later, Edward Lee |
