I noticed you co-authored a book with Jack Ketchum called "Sleep Disorder". Is this the same Jack Ketchum that wrote "The Girl Next Door"? Speaking of which (The Girl Next Door) maybe one of the most disturbing books I have ever read. Not just because the torture scene's were graphic but it was set in one of the most realistic settings and the over all tone of the book and dealt with kids doing these acts. Creeps me out just thinking about it. uhhhh. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work. |

even creepier when you realize the girl next door is based off of true events. |

That's right. I mean the content was sick and twisted but what really creeped me out was that it was so realistic and I knew it was based on a true story but the way it was written seemed to me that Mr. Ketchum was actually there. Just a really fucked my head up. Saw the movie too and great adaptation. Book really made me look at how my kids are raised. |

Jack's one of my best friends--the first horror writer I ever hung out with--and a dynamite writer. TGND remains the most disturbing book I've read, too. As for the Sleep disorder collabs, that was a ton of fun. They were stories we threw back and forth for the hell of it. Check it out if you can. Best, Edward Lee |

THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. I keep a couple spare paperbacks of this in the house. When some blowhard tells me nothing gets to him I hand em a copy and tell the dimbulb it's a real easy read and there's alot of cool sex in it. Idiots. Oh yeah. Shit gets to em. Oh yeah. |

The movie ain't bad but they had to tone it down quite a bit from the book and the changed ending baffled me. |

I hope you all caught Jack's cameo in the beginning, the carnival scene--he's in the background with a broom. He also has a cool cameo as a bartender in THE LOST, and, of course, a short scene with me (both as cops) in HEADER. I just hope nothing goes awry with HEADER's distro deal. Later! Edward Lee |

It has been a while since I read the book, I saw the movie probably within the last half year, can someone refresh my memory what the difference between the end of the movie and the book. I was glad they toned the movie down, with as graphic as the book was I am positive I couldn't have handled the movie being that graphic. I do intend to read Sleep Disorder once I am finished with what I am reading now. Thanks for the response everyone. |
