OMG..it is fantastic. I am almost done with it and I cannot put it down. The characters jump off the pages and come to life. You feel like you are in the mind of the main character...she is so real. Lee at his best!! |

Wow, thanks very much; I'm glad you're digging it, and hope you like the end. I'll pass on your comments to Ms. Steffen. Thanks for your support! Best, Edward Lee |

The ending BLEW ME AWAY!!! What a shocker. I never expected that ending...never. I think my mouth hung open for the whole ending. I can't believe what those 2 went through as children. But she sure got even!! Manburger was the ultimate gross out!! I loved every page of that book, as I do all your books. Thank you for passing my comments along to Ms. Steffen. |

Having read the first 50 pages of it today, I must say that this is a different experiece from reading other Lee books. Usually I get hooked on those because they are hilariously gross and fucked up. This one here has me hooked just because of the suspense that is expertly created. |

Horrorfan, Wetbones: thanks very much for the generous words. Steffen and I wrote that book a LONG time ago but I still remember how much fun it was. Hope you both have a dynamite Halloween! Edward Lee |

So how is this for starting up an old thread? I just finished this book and am absolutely amazed that it has not gotten more praise in the horror community. I am at a lack of words right now cause I just finished it, but I still can't believe that more people aren't talking about it even though it was written so many years ago... Also, this one is right up there for me as one of the most difficult stories for me to read (for good reasons ![]() -jonah |

It is amazing that this book hasn't gotten more praise. It is one of the best horror books I have ever read and I have read thousands! Wasn't the ending absolutely fantastic? ![]() |

My wife recently read this and loved it. She said the beginning was a little odd, but the book quickly grew on her. I have yet to read it, but I'm hoping to get into it soon. |

Vantro: please pass on my thanks to your wife--I hope you like it as well. There's a pretty cool meat-grinder scene! Later, Edward Lee |

Vantro....you will love it! There is not one part of this book that wasn't fantastic. As Mr. Lee said, the meat grinder scene is pretty cool...actually WAY cool! |

I as well just bought this off of Amazon, along with The Bighead and The Minotauress from Ed's online shop. I'm going to read Psychopath last, as I'll read Bighead and Mino first. I'm 150 pages into The Bighead. I'll post my review when I'm done. It's a total 360 from the Straker novels. |
