Darkthrone: yes, there are others. In fact the very first story to regard the Vinchetti Family was called Xipe, written a long time ago, and most recently published in one of Cemetery Dance's Shivers anthos. Then there's Ms. Torso, published in a dual chapbook by Bloodletting. The Excitable Boy story is called The McCrath Model SS40-C, Series S. Next summer I plan to write the sequel to Header, and, believe me, this will be the Mother of all Vinchetti stories. Thanks for your interest! Edward Lee |

Damn. I just want to read this story more and more. And there's no chance of it ever being reprinted huh? |

I would like to guess JFK, Jr. since I came across your book "Deaths of the Cold War Kings" and America's general fascination with the death of Kennedys (they even got their own band name celebrating the occassion!). But his death was in July and "the Ushers" was printed in June. Closest thing I can find to a fairly noteworthy celeb passing away in '99 pre-publication is Kubrick. I forgot to mention: I received a copy of "the Ushers" and read a few of the afterwords for the stories I'd already read elsewhere. "Almost Never" mentions that the head of Cemetery Dance magazine didn't care for Lee's hardcore stuff. I found that odd, I thought Cemetery Dance published some pretty heavy stuff. Why would they think Lee's stuff was too hardcore? |
