Thanks for the good wishes, all. I can only speculate that the mass-market paperback of Golemesque will be out around June 2009 (Brides of the Impaler come out in September, 08) but there will be limited hardcovers of both. For the next week or two (when I'm not walking my old butt on the beach looking at girls in bikinis) I'll be masively rereading certain pieces of HPL's to get his voice firmly in my head. The first novella will be Edward Lee imitating Lovecraft's style--a daunting prospect indeed, but one I'm thrilled to tackle. I can't wait to erotica and hardedged violence in Lovecraft's style. Later! Edward Lee PS--Oh, and the baby octpus salad was EXCELLENT. Come to think of it, all those tentacles are very appropriate for a guy who's about to write some HPL pieces... |

What's your favorite of HPL's? I tend to choose different stories all the time but I was really impressed with Shadow Over Innsmouth and Shadow Out of Time on my first read through of each. I'm a really big fan of the Temple as well, and for some reason that one is generally ill thought of. Incidentally, my xbox live gamertag is HP Lovecraft. I was just be-friended a few weeks ago my one Robert E Howard. Now we just need a Seabury Quinn! ![]() |

I'm really stoked to hear this one is in it's finishing stages! I got to admit though... Having my daughter has takin up alot of my Lee reading time. (Not that I'm complaining mind you. But I'd really like to read a couple of your new ones.) My goal today is getting a copy of House Infernal, maybe Minotauress in the future. Love your tales Ed, fucking love them!! |

Sorry, forgot to reply! It's hard for me to name my fave HPL story because I love almost all of them. Haunter of the Dark first comes to mind, and of course, Rats in the Walls. Shadow Over Innsmouth--which I'llbe sequelizing soon--is way up there in spite of the muddled ending. Dream in the Witch-House--which HPL thought was a dud--is also one of my faves. As for The Temple--oh, yes, that one's great too and BEGS for someone to sequelize. My down-the-road full-fledged Lovecraftian novel will in a sense be a continuation of The Tomb. One HPL story I LOVE--though it's one that's rarely talked about--is He. If I ever do a HPL-based screenplay, it will surely be based on that story. In all, I couldn't live without Lovecraft. In a few days I'll be starting my Innswich Horror novella. I don't think you'll be disappointed! Later! Edward Lee |
