Got back from Scares that Care a few days ago--one of the best cons I've ever been too. Met several message boarders including Veryevildead, got to hang out with Mike Lombardo aka Reelsplatter, who's quite possible the funniest guy in the world, sat with F. Paul Wilson, Tom Monteleone, and Carleton Mellick; got footage for my next flick of Brian Keene (I'm going to green screen vomit coming out of his mouth), got signed books from Jeff Strand, Tim Waggoner, Krist Ruffty, Adam Cesare (with whom I also did a reading) Jonathan Janz, and Chris Jensen (Jensen has to be among the most outrageous and dangerous looking dudes I've ever met, and h looks just like Robert Lasardo from HC3 who was ALSO at the con!) Also hung out with John Urbancik whom I hadn't seen for years, and got a great photo taken by him. Shot night footage in the creepy as hell woods behind the hotel of Reelsplatter with blood all over his face. Drank more than my share of beer. Got some awesome horror prints by Jenna Manson (google her name and check her site) and had a nightmare about one of the prints the night I got home! Met Fred Godsmark from Audio Realms who just released Golem and Going Monstering; very cool guy. Oh, also bought some DVDs from Christopher Mihm which proved to be very cool stuff; he shoots flicks that look exactly like the sci-fi and horror from the 50s. All in all a splendid convention and I can't wait to go again! Best Edward Lee |
