The Minotauress was my first Edward Lee novel, read back in 2009. Six years later, I've been finding it difficult to find new stuff I want to read, especially horror, which I seem to have all but grown out of. So I decided to go back and re-read The Minotauress and holy jism it isn't as dandy today as it was six years ago. Still my favourite of all the Edward Lee books I have read. Currently in the middle of The Horncranker and just got past the bit with Sgt Lass and Officer Dodell. One of my favourite scenes ever. |

Thanks much, John and Wetbones: I'm quite pleased with both stories myself; though why I picked Theseus and the Labyrinth to molest in grand style Ill never know. Minotauress, btw, was just released in Germany; knock on wood. If they liked Bighead and The Pig, I suspect they'll like that! As I recall, the "L'il Gangsta" scene in Horncranker almost got cut. One scene in Minotaruess that seemed to generate complaints was the Hock Party scene. There were a few folks out there who seemed to be of the disposition that I was deliberately degrading lower-economic-status rural caucasion women. Hogwash, I say. Comparatively, it was the tamest scene in the book! At anyrate, in Header 3, there is a new variation of the Hock Party which I'm sure you'll get a kick out of. The hock party made me gag all over again. Now re-reading Header 2, after Header 1. Sure is a lot of fun reacquainting myself with them good ole boys having thereselfs some dandy nuts. |

Minotauress is in my Top 5 Lee books, I always have a blast reading that. Header 2 is also in that list, that books was crazy. Can't wait for 3! |

I'm glad I hit this thread; I read the Minotauress years ago (LOVED IT), but never made the step over to The Horncranker; not sure why. So... I went back and sure enough, LOVED IT TOO. I'm not sure much can top The Bighead in overall sheer fucking disgustingness (Jerrica blowing the dealer in the alley still makes me gag), but I love it all the same! |

Hey Ed, I know it's usually up to the publishers, but any chance in hell we can get a LOT more of your wonderful works on audiobook... like The Minotauress or my all-time favorite GAST? It really adds a dimension that I don't think people truly appreciate until they have a good narrator. While "Brides of the Impaler" was OK on audio, "The Bighead" was masterful. Oh.... and just because I *CAN* ask (whether you respond is up for grabs!)... besides Header 3, any full-length novels coming our way? Thanks for all you do, and the responses you give us here! |
