Well the 9year olds in my class are loving their first encounter with Edward Lee, we are about half way through the book and quite a few have ordered it from amazon already. Just planning my next story time not sure if it should be Family Traditions or The Bighead. I have a feeling they will love rednecks and their cooking! |

That's wonderful! I really dig the idea of kids reading me. Hopefully they'll move on to the hard stuff when theyre 18. Thanks for the push! Best Edward Lee |

Finished it Thursday afternoon, the kids loved it and a few have bought their own copies. They want to start Monster Lake on Monday. |

Nothing could make me happier! Both of those books, as simplistic as they are, are deeply rooted in my own childhood ponderings (and the Lodge is ased on my Grandmother's house in Pound Ridge NY where, coincidentally, I'm returning to next month with my uncle, to see the house again, after a 40-odd year absence! Thanks for your support! Edward Lee |

Well we are around 15-16 chapters in. The kids are loving it, after reading Vampire lodge a putting all the info together they are now making more predictions based on what they know in Monster Lake. Although I found the build up in Vampire Lodge creepier (for a child's story) my class are more freaked out by Monster Lake. Any plans for more Little Chillers in the future? I know a group of kids who would love to read them. |

Damn, i wish I could write another one but there's simply no time considering other deadlines. Long ago I had outlines for a few more, one called GLOP! which would be a kid's version of HPL's Colour of of Space. It was about a bunch of sentient goo in a well at the kid's grandma's house (loosely based on my own grandmother's house in Pound Ridge , New York. Parts of Vampire Lodge were based on my grandmother's house as well, a place near and dear to me in my childhood memories. Incidentally, next Thursday I'm going to NYC to meet my last living uncle for the expressed purpose of taking a train to Connecticut, renting a car, and driving to that same house, which is still there (and antique shop, just like my grandmother's). My uncle and father were raised there during the Depression. I haven't seen that house since about 1970; hence I'm DETERMINED to see it one more time! I can't wait! (I'm told the well is still there, but the big pond--the creative impetus for the lake in Monster Lake, was drained decades ago.) Anyway, thanks very much for your kind words and support (and have a Happy Easter!) Best Edward Lee |
