Just a quick one, about to read one of the above and wondered what fans or maybe even Lee would suggest? |

Both are great, but Slither is one of my favorites. |

I listened to Slither on audiobook, but read Gast. I started with the ebook version of "The Black Train" before I realized that Gast was the "unrated" version of it. That being said... GAST ALL THE WAY! I hope Ed reads this - honestly, I'm putting Gast up there next to the Bighead as my favorite Ed Lee title(s). I'm hoping to find one or more that I enjoy as much, but that's a pretty tall task. I really enjoyed Lucifer's Lottery too.... and The Backwoods.... and anything with Luntville... FUCK! How in the hell can I pick a favorite Ed Lee book? At this point, all I can do is pick varying shades of "like." |

Yeah, although both are good books, I thought Slither was too technical at points, and it kinda brought it down for me. Gast however was an awesome read. While Black Train is the softcore "Hard-R" version if you will, of Gast, Gast is full on hardcore all the way!!! |

My preference, too, would be Gast, and I agree Slither, thought Silther was a blast to write and I think the plot and characters are solid, I convoluted the action with all the zoology/tech stuff. Gast/Black Train, however, tickles me pink and was the next of what I hope to be many "haunted house" ventures: my favorite motif! Black Train was also released in Germany--an additional thrill. Thanks for your continued interest and support! Edward Lee |

I may be late to the party but I say GAST if you ain't done so already. Of course read SLITHER cause that's awesome too, but GAST is what a hardcore horror book should be, looks great, fells great, hell it even smells great... and the story, well that'll just about blow your tiny little mind. |

Slither has 30-foor trichinosis worms but Gast has a foot-job. You decide! Edward Lee |

Got to say I went with the first suggestion and that was Slither. I have had a hectic few weeks at work and not read as much as I would have liked (about 1/3 in, but I have to say I really like it, I am not a geek but I quite like the technical bits. I do have a two week Easter break that starts tomorrow so I plan to beast the rest of this book in a few days and after all the good things said about GAST I'll be taking that I my bag too. |

I hope you like Slither. There may be a character or two that will strike you as familiar! I'd originally planned to write a sequel to Slither, about genetically altered Spirochetes or whatever the germ is that causes syphillis: germs the size of garbage can lids but, lo, I put that one away. Later! Edward Lee |

YAY! SLITHER! Don't get me wrong, Gast is great, but I have a soft (rotten) spot in my heart for killer worms. When choosing from a plethora of fantastic books, sometimes it's the little things that make the difference. Killer worms, Lovecraft mythos, or, in the case of Family Tradition, one line of dialogue that was so funny I was laughing about it for days; these are the things that can make a book stand out from a group of already outstanding books. In conclusion: YAY! SLITHER! Erik ![]() |

Well i really enjoyed Slither. Sadly it took longer to read than hoped what with a two year old and lots of work commitments recently but i loved the book. Wont spoil it for those who have yet to read but loved the twist with the researchers. Didnt see that coming. Well worth a read! Gonna read some Mellick III and McKenzie shorter stuff now then give Gast a go. Seeing as loads of people rated it better than Slither i am looking forward to that one. Long live the giant worm!! |

Glad you liked my giant worms. I think the only kind of worm grosser than a trichinosis worm are dog poop worms and, who knows, maybe one day I'll write a book about those! Best wishes to all of you! Edward Lee |

Wow, what a great image: twirling dogshit worms on a fork! As for disgusting new crap, I cannot reveal details, but I can PROMISE future material that will make some of my past work look like little kids playing hopscotch. Oh, am I so geared up! I've already started the opening of my novel set in Poland and I'm quickly realizing that if it ever gets PUBLISH in Poland, the publisher may go to jail. Later, all! Edward Lee |

Don't take this the wrong way, but .... that makes me horny, Ed. WRITE WRITE WRITE WRITE! When is the next release of anything new coming, do you think? Weeks, months? |

Post subject: | Re: GAST or Slither |
If dog poop worms make you horny, then that makes you perfectly normal, right? As for my "publishing " schedule, I'm afraid there's nothing new coming for a while, but once I'm back from Poland (June 11) I'm pretty sure that what I will do before getting back to Header 3 and also working on the Polish novel, is write a new short story to fill out a reprint collection that will include Stick Woman, Shit House, and an updated version of The Ushers. I'm pretty sure that the new story will kick some serious butt. Later! Edward Lee |
