I would love to see that happen. I have most of your books autographed, but i would love to have it signed right in front of me. What i would really love is a book by you playing in amsterdam at the red lights. Turn de wallen (redlights name) into a hell hole of sexual torture. Full of gorgious woman who are not what they look like. Amsterdam's red light is strange : there are a lot of ladies who are no ladies. If you live in Amsterdam you know that, tourists dont. They run away scarerd ![]() Wow, i would really dig that ![]() Furthermore i hope that people in the netherlands will learn of your books. I can only obtain your books by Jack Stynes, and sometimes i see one novel of you lying at the american bookcenter. Really annoys me. Only stephen king, dean koontz. Never Lee, Wrath, Laymon. I am patiently waiting for a new lee novel or short story collection. Last but not least : i wish you from the bottem of my heart all the best, and hope for you the sun will shine again. |

It's probably changed quite a bit since I was there in '97.... hey, Bighead time! I had even heard there was some attempt at "cleaning the place up," as if a place where you can purchase almost anything CAN be cleaned up. I did notice some trannies, but the one thing that struck me was what I considered the "tourist" side versus the "economy" or "local" side. What I considered the tourist side had the neon and flashing red lights, the beautiful girls (or girl look-a-likes - YIKES!), the glass basically shower doors where you'd peruse the merchandise and enter.... ... and then the economy side. The working class guys' place - normal-looking brick front steps, with, um, AHEM, let's just say the quality and age of the "ladies" on that side was McDonald's versus the other's filet mignon. My friend and I laughed about it for quite a while. Unfortunately, I did not partake in the festivities, and I'm almost sorry I didn't now. My thought at the time (young man full of piss an' vinegar!) was "I never paid for sex, ain't startin' now!" Well.... duh you dumbass, you've paid out the ASS for sex - just not solely for the ACT. Cut out the middle man, cut out the dinner, movie, time it takes to get them drunk and the liquor.... and just go pay for the blowjob. Had I to do it over again? I'd probably have gotten my 20 guilder knob-polish. |

The red light has a lot changed unfortunately. There are still a lot of ladies, but most of them dont speak dutch. A lot of asians are or were males, 25-30 %. Then you have the real shemales, with bigger you know what then most guys ![]() I don't have 10+ inch. But it's not my thing either, but it's so funny to see tourists run away scared ***less. You have old afro woman in the corner of a church for 20 euro's, if that's your thing. THey are the plumper woman and certanely not BBW. A lot of windows have been reserved for ART ![]() So stupid, as if you are interested in this if you visit the Red LIghts. The best woman are the dutch woman who are at Oude Nieuwstraat (spui), sort of small red light. I visit one woman there reguarly for over 8 years now. Not extremely pretty, but normal looking and a fun to talk 2. And considering it's been 8 years, yeah it feels like an old glove. Red light is still fun , but look out where you go to. If it's asian, real good looking like the best girl you saw, it's probably a male. But you can write a real horror story with these shemales. THere is a story going round, a man is being tied to the bed by a beautiful ladie, she disapears and a shemale takes place. OUTCH ![]() |

That's one place I've always wanted to go simply to taste Heineken, where I'm told it's infinitely better than anywhere else. Also, isn't Rembrandt's The Night Watch displayed in Amsterdam? Who knows, maybe one day I'll come there but for now I'm concentrating on Poland where I'll be for a month this June to begin what I hope will be my best occult novel. I can't recall the name but there was a fantastic Ramsey Campbell story set in Amsterdam. Take care! Edward Lee |

@ Ed - yes, that IS where The Night Watch is... I stumbled across it in the Rijk Museum I believe. I say stumbled because I don't know shit about art, but enjoyed going to a bunch of the museums while in Europe. I remember this painting specifically because of how freakin' HUGE it was (is). Granted, cramming all the museums in that you can in limited amounts of time means you see a LOT, but damn - I wasn't expecting something of THAT size. PS: just looked up the dimensions, and I was right - it IS huge: Dimensions: 142.9" x 172" (363 cm x 437 cm) |

It's the most famous painting in Holland. By the way : it's Grin of the dark. |
