Dear All: I'm returning to MD tomorrow. My mother's in a nearby nursing home now and, if all goes well, will leave there in a month, and then I'll admit her into an assisted living facility with a dementia wing. I checked the place out and put a deposit down; it's looks like the Mayflower Hotel in the lobby and atrium. Good place and only a mile from my mother's house. It doesn't look like I'll have to sell the house right away, either. The only kick in the tail is the non-refundable one-time only $3000 "community fee." EXCUSE ME? No way around it, though. Hell, for that money the lady that runs the place should have to do me a couple of times, for pity's sake. I've also still got the lawyer working on guardianship in case there are any set backs. In all likelihood I'll be in MD for a while but one of the first things I do when I get there is get one of these mobile hotspot things. I only hope the Verizon guy doesn't charge me a $3000 community fee as well! At any rate, I'll be able to check in on the board regularly and will actually have time to work on Header 3. Well, I suppose if we see an assisted living administrator in H3, it'll be a sign that horrible horrible even by Lee standards horrible things are about to happen to that individual. On the plus side, though, it's nice that you're getting her into a good facility. Some of those places are real dumps that just make you hurt inside for the folks who live there. |

Glad to hear things are moving along...I know it's been rough for you and your mom. But it must be a big relief to know she's being taken care of and is safe. Don't forget to take care of yourself, too! Konnie |

Best of luck in these trying times for you. This is easily one of the worse things to have to deal with in life. Nothing is harder then this. I personally hate god (insert imaginary entity) , but you and yours are in my prayers, though the hating god part might make it worthless. So I'll buy as many of your books I can to at least support you financially. |
