Hey I know you only said you had made small progress on Header 3 but its a step in the right direction. I have really enjoyed the Lovecraft inspired work but feel ready for some more down and dirty hardcore hill billy redneck craziness. Is Header 3 due in 2012 or will it be 2013? P.S i keep asking this only as I am so keen to get my hands on it, have Deadite got any further with the Header release?  Take care Ed and keep up the great work! |

I see a copy of the Necro edition of HEADER on eBay right now. I take this as a sign that people in the know are dumping their expensive copies with the knowledge that a cheaper edition will soon be available. Yippee!!! More HEADER for everyone! |

Take my word for it, no one wants more redneck madness out of Edward Lee than Edward Lee himself! Still naven't heard any more about the Header 1 rerelease by Deadite, but I'll ask again. I'm sorry progress on H3 has been slow--it's due to family stuff mostly, but i'm sure that I'll be roaring. It'll be a snap to write cos it's so well outlined--I'm dying to get back to it full steam (and there IS some serious redneck hobnobbin' in it.) I think I can promise it will be out in 2012. I wish you could all see all my story notes for future projects: it's CHOCK FULL of redneck stuff, and don't worry, it won't be the same old thing. There's DIVERSITY to my redneckin', and I've got so much down and dirty stuff coming down the pike, it would make those two guys in Deliverance throw up. Thanks for all the redneck enthusiasm! Redneck horror rapidly became one of my favourite subgenres, and noone writes it like Ed. Every now and then you hear a story in the news that sounds almost exactly like one of his stories. There are some craaaazy people out there! I remember a few years back when Ed Gein's property went up for sale (I'm in WI). Good thing I didn't have the money to buy it as I probably would have done something really inappropriate with it

if you dig ed's work, you should also check out tim dorsey. http://www.amazon.com/Tim-Dorsey/e/B001 ... 903&sr=8-1 he writes alot of great black comedy redneck madness type stuff. hes a one trick pony of a writer, all of his novels pretty much have the same formula. but he still writes some really funny over the top stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Hammerhead-Ranch- ... 067&sr=1-1 i dont know exactly how much of an influence dorsey is on lee's body of work, but lee likes his work as well. |

CR666: actually you're a much more cultured NEw England redneck, now that I think of it. Everyone: maybe someday I'll write a novella about a horror convention that turns out to be a party for Lucifer, and I'll put ALL OF YOU in it! Edward Lee PS--Of course, I'll be in it as well PPS--regarding Dunwich Romance, the publisher told me today that it was already at the printers. Hopefully that means it won't be too long before it's out. |
