Ahh, Wetbones. You and I must be kindred spirits, because I, too, laughed my tail off after Vukmir's little speech. I've been giggling on and off all day about it. The scene in question did upset me a little, but not as much as I thought it would; and I didn't find it to be gratuitous in any way. It is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Hopefully I can rewatch it again soon (I watched an online stream and the quality was pretty horrendous) once I find it on DVD. |

Great to see someone mentioning this movie. I been floating around a few places where fans of horror hang out and very few folks seem to have seen this film. For me this is just about one of the best damn horror movies I ever seen. No nonesense and hardcore. I urge folks to go out and track down the uncut version and sit down for a real treat. |

I loved A Serbian Film! One of the best horror movies I've seen in the past ten years. I think the movie was suppose to be funny. The first time I watched it I alternated from laughing to my mouth hanging open in shock. The last line of the movie makes me think it was the extreme horror version of the Aristocrats joke. |

A SERBIAN FILM, along with THE WOMAN, and - on a lighter note - HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN have been the only three films I have seen this year (so far) that I can recommend without reservation. |

i thought the same thing about srpski a.k.a. serbian film in relation to lee's work. vogel's film maskhead is also worth checking out. same with niku daruma. |

I just saw Serbian Film, thanks to cthulhurising, and was very impressed with production, content, acting, and ramifications. My only complaint: they should've gotten better stage-jizz. Very interesting and provocative film; horror fans should all see it Edward Lee |

Agree on all points. You know a movie is really good if it stays with you for awhile! We also watched Red State (per Big T's review) and thought that was a pretty good film, really different. My husband is sure liking all of the Ed-ites movie suggestions! Now if only I could get him to read a horror book..... Konnie |

I just watched A Serbian Film for the first time tonight and I agree with all the unanimous praise in this thread. I was not nearly as disturbed/shocked as I expected to be from reading all the hype online. I guess anyone who can handle Lee's most extreme stuff won't have much difficulty with this. But I was blown away by how damn GOOD the movie was: in style, acting, directing, cinematography, musical score, and flat out superb story telling. It created genuine suspense and a strong emotional impact. This was far from a simple shock piece. |

After reading this discussion,I went to buy this, but all I found was the edited/censored version. From what I understand, the uncut is 103 minutes. I have webtv, so I can't do torrents. The version on Amazon is only cut by 30 seconds, and from what I can tell, it's from the baby scene and the incest scene (I don't want to give spoilers, you don't see the face, but it's obvious by the body who it is). But you will not miss what is happening!! You will know. The ending is all there, too. There are versions that are about 9 minutes cut, so watch the run time. If there is more cut, I would like to know what else is. Thanks! Konnie |

the copy i gave edward lee was a screener copy. the clips from movie-censorships site are from the screener. not the offical uncut dvd.. the baby thing was done previously in similar fashion in header 2. im surprised no one pointed that out yet... that one of the primarily most disturbing scenes in the film was already done by ed lee. |

I, for one, didn't point that out because I've not been able to read any Headers yet. I only have the movie. I'm patiently waiting for Deadite to grant alll my Header wishes (by that, I don't mean I want them to drill a hole in my skull and fuck my brains into a soupy mush). I've seen a poor quality screener stream and I have the official uncut. Haven't done a direct comparison yet. If Mr Lee would like the official uncut version, I will happily make that happen for him ps: CR666 "Spoiler alerts" are quite nice when giving away plot elements to those not 'in the know'

Squeaky....I never read the first Header, only saw the movie, but I did read Header 2. I think the movie is super close to the book, so I bought H2. My only book on Kindle so far!! haha....I really did enjoy Header 2, but I am "unpatiently" waiting for the first one, too! PS....I did buy the uncut version of Serbian last night!
