NOTE: the deluxe version contains an additional story--"The Cadaver"--that Lee vows will never be reprinted; if he keeps his promise, "The Cadaver" will remain his rarest published work, with only 26 copies in existence. "The story is so politically incorrect," Lee assures us, "that no one in their right mind would publish it on a larger scale. It's too offensive." One night at a Seattle bar, Lee and publisher Matt Johnson signed a non-disclosure agreement, to never reveal the details of the story to anyone. Lee's only clue regarding this arcane piece is: "It's not about what's happening to the cadaver, it's about who the cadaver is."


Are Deadite brave enough to publish this? Sure they are! Will Edward Lee let them? I am sure he would.

Come on I am really curious. Make it happen. :p

The Cadaver will probably NEVER be reprinted, due to the contractual agreement stated in the mention of the piece. Otherwise, he probably would allow it.

I know the former occupant of the cadaver. I figured it out from evidence in the story. Ed was kind enough to tell me 8 was right! Yeah, I got one of them 26 lettered copies.
Would I be pissed if the story got reprinted? Not a bit.

Trust me, there's no reason to reprint this story; additionally, if I did reprint it, a fair number of collectors would be supremely pissed. To be honest, I should have my ass kicked for writing something so irredeemible!

I can't get away from threads about THE CADAVER. I swear about two years ago we went through a big long discussion about the story. Buried in this pile somewhere!!
It is all about the thrill of wanting something that is very hard or impossible to get. Not about any actual qualities of the rare object.
Ed really didn't put much into this story. Probably wrote it in a sitting. It is an original idea, I will say. But you just ain't missing much. Believe Ed. If you don't believe me.........

I recall the conversation. I believe it was in a thread about Deadite, and I asked if the Cadaver would be reprinted, and I was told no, and why. And not to add fuel to the fire, but the story is just wrong on every level.

So I guess even if I wanted to pay $200 for a copy of the deluxe edition, I couldn't. Because it's impossible to find anywhere.

I've just looked all over Amazon and eBay and everywhere and nowhere has the deluxe edition. This is now going to be my lifelong quest: to read The Cadaver.

I only spent 5 years or so looking b4 I found a copy Hope you do better than I did! Jonah seems to be the guy with the magic touch. Ask him for his book buying secrets..........( I think it involves spending lots of money)
