Post subject: | Couple questions about differences in the text |
Having recently become a complete Lee junkie I have come across people talking about different versions of certain books, chapbooks. Just wondering how much different is Gast from The Black Train, is it worth getting a copy of Gast (kind of a stupid question, but if it a few paragraphs difference) Room 415 supposedly has a different ending?? I bought the Necro chapbook from a guy from e-bay, but where is the other ending found? The Bighead, I have the Necro ebook and have a tpb coming with I assume the Necro ending also, how different is the other ending too? Also are there any others that have alternate endings other then those 3 I know of? Sorry I'm sure most of these questions have been asked before, but I keep getting sidetracked reading others posts, rather then look for the info I need. |

Hi. Yes, most of your questions have been answered already in previous posts, but I will help you out: Gast has a LOT more hardcore sex scenes that wouldn't be appropriate for the mass market version, The Black Train. Room 415-The alternate version is found in the lettered version of Damned. It's a horror anthology. The Bighead-The Necro version is the occult ending, whereas the Overlook version is more of a sci-fi ending. The overlook ending was Ed's original and preferred ending, whereas Necro wanted to change it. As far as alternate endings, these are the only ones I know of. However, the Necro versions of Incubi and Succubi have some extended scenes, from what I understand. Hope this info helps you, and welcome to the board. |

Thanks for having patience with me and giving me some answers. ![]() Looks like I'm going to have some hunting to do to get all of them, though I have a feeling a lettered copy of the Damned is either not going to be for sale or way out of my meager price range. Saw a few pics of that book and it is a beauty, a pure work of art. Those 26 people must be some happy sons of .... |

Impressive list for one year's time. I'd recommend The Messenger. I noticed you don't have that one. It's one of Ed's mass market novels, but the story is excellent. Both my wife and I loved it. |

I was really fond of Monstrosity- you should be able to get a copy of the paperback fairly cheap. |

COVEN is a great Ed Lee novel. Great list of books! I own pretty much everything Ed has written. But I have been at it for 8 or 10 years! |

Great posts, all. My old brain doesn't recall any further alternate endings. There will likely be a trade pb and Kindle version of The Chosen fairly soon and I was thinking of using the original ending that my editor asked me to change when the pb first came out in the mid 90's...if I can only find it! Thanks for your interest! Edward Lee |
