If you want to take a giant step in the improvement of your writing skills and better your chances of getting published, this is the workshop for you.

But don’t take our word for it—check out what past attendees have said:

“My novella Blood Spring is officially up for pre-order. Looks like it'll ship around April 9. I never would have gotten to this point without the Boot Camp, so thanks for all that you do.” (Erik Williams)
______

“I have a short story and poetry collection going to print next week (Scales and Petals) and thought you’d like to read the afterword because it mentions the Borderlands Press Boot Camps, and how much they helped me.” (Michael Bailey)

I won a Bram Stoker Award for First Novel, and it would have never happened without the wealth of knowledge I gained at the Borderlands Boot Camp! I gained more in three days than I had in the last three years!” (Lisa Mannetti)
______

"Simply stated, the Borderlands Boot Camp changed my writing life. Tom Monteleone (and crew) cut through all the crap and explained how to write a solid, and sellable, story. Using red ink (not your blood, as some have claimed!), their team of professional writers and editors will review your tale and show you page-by-page why your story isn't working. That information is worth a million bucks to writers like you and me. You will also get twenty or so peer reviews, challenging exercises, amazing forums and lectures, and make a bunch of new writer friends. This week-end is grueling fun and totally aimed to make you a published author. I attended in 2008 and 2009 and went from barely published to professional rates. This year, I am in Midnight Walk, a 2010 Best Anthology nominee for the HWA Bram Stoker award. I am planning on returning in 2011 to continue working on my craft. I hope to see you there” ( R. B. Payne)
______

The Borderlands Boot Camp was the pivotal moment in my writing career. Before I attended, I was working in a void, sending query letters about my novel to agents and getting piles of rejections. Boot Camp helped me sharpen my manuscript and become a better writer, and
because of what I learned and the relationships I made with the faculty and my fellow grunts I now have a fantastic agent at one of New York's most prestigious agencies. Boot Camp isn't about hand-holding or ego stroking -- it's tough and demanding. But why should you want anything less? I guarantee you will learn more about writing and publishing in one weekend than in months of workshops, seminars, and writer's groups. Think of it as an accelerated MFA taught by real-world pros who understand not only the craft, but the business of writing and career building. It's really that good. (Michael M. Hughes)
______

“I had an amazing experience at the Borderlands Boot Camp and I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about writing. Tom and Elizabeth Monteleone are wonderful coaches, mentors, and most of all, wonderful people.
I attended the 2008 Boot Camp and it was a life-changing experience! Although it was only 3 days and two nights, there were so many amazing people and experiences that it would it fill up a full length novel were I to list them all.
Well worth every penny and then some!” (Leo Zaccari)
_____

“Boot Camp 2010 was amazing! The attitude of everyone—instructors and grunts—was constructive and dedicated to getting results. The improvement over the course of three days was astonishing! The lightbulb moment came after eight hours of sessions intensely talking writing, when we sat down to dinner—excitedly talking writing! I made friends and contacts I’ll have for years” (Ted Krever)
_____

“A couple of stories recently accepted are by newer writers, Richard Payne and Paul Bens Jr., who attended the Borderlands Boot Camp (with teachers such as David Morrell, F. Paul Wilson, Jack Ketchum, Douglas Clegg, etc.). They submitted to DD in the past, but weren’t quite ready yet. They made leaps and bounds as far as their writing ability after attending this workshop.” (Dark Discoveries magazine)
