Haven't picked up SNUFF yet myself, but i'm definitely a fan of Chuck's writing! CHOKE is my personal favorite, but all have merit. DIARY or LULLABY would probably be a close second. Wish someone would make another film out of his work besides FIGHT CLUB (which was pretty good actually). Met him at a reading in Portland a couple of years ago and he's super cool! He's like a star there and the line went around the block by the time we had waited about an hour or so. The place was packed too! He read one of the tales from HAUNTED ("Hot Potting") to great response (including humorous props). - James www.darkdiscoveries.com |

Haunted is defintely on my to buy list. I know Jeremy Robert Johnson and Chuck are both big fans of each other's writing. Didn't Chuck kind of give birth to whole 'bizarro' writing click going on? Carlton Mellick and Jeremy Robert Johnson and others. If you want weird and often funny, try Angel Dust Apocalypse by Johnson: read it last week and it freaked me out. Some good stories in there. |

I only read Haunted from him and was extremely disappointed. I had a hard time finishing the book. Interesting premise but I couldn't care less about any of the characters in the book. The ending was also a big let down for me. |

The trouble is that HAUNTED is actually a short story collection forced into being a "novel" by its very weak and weird wraparound story. Taken as a series of short stories however, the book is great. |
