Tt, if you like the Matrix, the Pontiac Vibe is the exact same car (literally, they have a partnership with Toyota) and a Vibe is probably cheaper but of equal quality, if that's a consideration for you. |

I didn't know that DGM, thanks a million for that! I'll look into that today after we do our Memorial Day BBQ thing wlith family later this morning. We went to the fireworks last night. Right here in "THE BIG CITY IN N.H." they have the biggest fireworks show in all of N.E. They did an unbelievable job of coordinating the fireworks to the Beatles "A Day In The Life", it was amazing in fact. Better than last year which featured "Another Brick In The Wall". The rest of the music during the show which last about 45 mnutes (and is like a finale the whole time) is heavy metal stuff and I have no idea what the songs are. A local radio station puts the show on, and has been doing it for 20 years now. Tt |

Well, I was all set to see the Matrix dealer first tomorrow then the Vibe dealer when the Jeep dealer called me. He offered me an extra $1,000 and I said no. I explained to him that I got offered $ 6,000 by another dealer on Sunday. He told me he would talk to the owner and get back to me. He called me back a half hour later and upped it again another $600. this brought his price for my truck up from the original $ 2,500 he offered me to almost $ 6.000. He told me he would give me the full 80,000 mile car warrenty on it, $14.00 oil changes for three years ( I change my oil every month), and free tire rotation. It is a 4 cyl but it has 4 wheel drive which I need here in the winters but its as peppy as hell. I told him he had a deal. So I'm excited. I'll pick it up tomorrow night and I already feel like I'm doing my part to fight these crazy gas prices. Tt |

It gets 28 miles per gallon. It says 24 city and 31 highway and I do mostly highway driving. I will post a picture, I'd pull up a picture and post it but I'm not sure how. The color is hunter green. Tony I will add that its only a 4 cylinder. |

Well I picked it up last night and drove it to work today. I did take some pictures of it at work and maybe I'll figure out how to post one of them here this evening. You can't believe a car salesman, but this guy bitched to me last night that this was one of the worst deals he's made. He had to split the commision with the first guy I met there and he said to me "half of nothing is nothing". I'm not sure what he wanted me to say. He got even more preterbed when I told him I wanted 4.9% financing. I told him if I didn't get it I was going to go somewhere else to get the finacing and it would delay the sale of the car. They came back and told me that he found a bank that would do it. Then they tried to sell me an insurance policy for $1500 that would cover all the stuff the 80,000 mile warrenty didn't handle. I said no and he couldn't believe it. I told him I'm only going to keep the car for three years because I put so much milage on it and then hopefully the cars three years from now will have even better gas milage. And I told him that if they are willing to sell me an insurance policy the chances are that I'll never use it. Once more he wasn't all that happy. After the deal was done and the papers exchanged, he walked me to the car and said, "I gotta hand it to you, you made a good deal, you did what you said you were going to do, and to be honest with you it worked". He then went on to explain how bad the car buisness was and he started to point out other cars that had sold stickers on them and how much the company was losing on each of them. Again, I didn't know if he was bullshitting me or not so I didn't say anything back to him. What the hell was I gonna say anyway? Well thats done, thank God. Tt |
