Well, it looks like its gonna be later than sooner Steve. I just got rejected for my story in the zombie anthology. The editor said it was good and it went down to the final cut but I didn't make it. He told me to submit it to someone else and he was certain it would find a home there. Oh well, I'll just keep trying. Tt |

TT, don't sweat it; I've gotten four rejections in the last four weeks.
I like to print them out and stare at them when I'm writing. I always freak when I read about authors like King who said he had enough to drive a spike through them. I know every writer has a starting point and goes through hell in the beginning, but it's hard to imagine the guy who wrote The Stand getting that many. I think I remember reading that Hemingway had 80 before being published. Another amazing fact. |

Sorry to hear about the rejection, Tt. I just recieved one as well for a recent story I sent out. It was a pretty quick one too, so I don't think it made it very far. The rejections don't hit me too hard though. I have fun writing them, and I plan to keep trying to improve. My dream is to one day have sold enough short stories to put together a collection (even if I self published the collection. Although I'd want most of the stories to have seen legitiment print elsewhere first) I very excited about the story I'm presently working on (I think it's my best so far). I'd follow the editors advice and send it out to someone else. If it came that close to making it this time it stands a good chance elsewhere. Good luck!
