At new York Comic Con, Stephen King confirmed that he's talking with J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof (producers of Lost) about a three year option on the series. If the deal comes together, he intends to grant the option for a nominal $ 19.00. Abrams told Wired News: "I love what The Dark Tower is...whats exciting to me abut it is that it is a very edgy epic. You could...say its his Tolkien Ring series, but I feel like it has a potential of being alot more. I think that sense of that great hero, that sort of Western, iconic, almost spaghetti-Western, iconic, almost spaghetti-Western-type hero in this landscape is just amazing- if feels iconic to me. (from C.D.) Ttzuma edit: sorry about the typo's, I've corrected them. My eyes are not what they used to be. I have to take my glasses off to type, and now even that vision is getting fuzzy. |

Roland would need to be someone who defines the anti-hero. I see someone in their forties, dark hair with a bit of grey. Lean, to the point of being rangy and a bit rough and unpolished. Oh, man...a young Clint Eastwood would have been perfect.... |

Clive Owen could do it. Though he'd have to lose the British accent... |
