Holy, Man...(sip) I just took a look at Don's replies at the Dorchester column here and wow. He seems really frustrated at this whole thing. I am really sorry, Laurel, it seems like he was a bit harsh with you. I must admit that I was still lurking in the Forum at Leisure once in a while, but it is over now. I just deleted it from my favorites. I still appreciate the horror line that they are putting out and I will continue to be a member of the club. The way that we were treated in the forum, the true hardcore fans, is unacceptable. I will not be revisiting there again. Ever. |

Well, DGM, there's the IRS, CIA, SPCA, PETA, American Kennel Club, Discovery Channel, BBCAmerica, Anheuser-Busch, NASCAR, the Screen Actor's Guild, Major League Baseball, the poor guy who puts the "Do Not Remove" tags on stuff that everyone rips off anyway,...................

As much as I admire Don, after reading and rereading his answers to Laurel, his arguments don't fly. Aside from the timing of these posts, I find it strange that Don keeps using the word "we", as in "we" talked to her. Who is "we"? Did Don talk to Harriett? Did Don hear her almost cry? I'm betting it was Chris who reported this to Don. Why did Harriett feel she was being treated cruelly? Because of our comments? She had ample oppertunity to discuss them with us and she choose to ignore us. Our requests were simple and a dialog might have prevented the whole thing. All of Laurel's points about Harrietts posting activity were good ones and to the point. The bottom line is Harriett stoped posting when we stopped. She stopped posting on the romance boards because they didn't respond to her like we did. In fact, I bet the posting on the romance boards is pretty well dead there anyway. The John Saul statement by Don was also out of line, I think she posted that picture of Saul and that comment on purpose after reading our posts... as a taunt. If not, then she never read one of our responses to her posts, or...she is dumber than a box of rocks. I do believe Don when he says "we" (meaning Leisure) called and it was the real Harriett, but that does not excuse the way the whole matter was handled. I think Don reacted the way he did to Laurel is that he was frustrated, she challenged him, and I don't think he really believes that the matter was handled well. Thanks guys. When I saw Don's post today I got angry for a couple of reasons. First. Why now? It's been over a month since this all went down and we've moved on. Why bring it up again? We left your site and Harriet is free to post as frequently as she likes. Why come over here and fan the fires? Second. Once again Chris and Harriet can do no wrong and everything that transpired was "The Leisure Faithful's" fault. Scolded once again. If Don considers this a fair and reasonable way to treat loyal, paying customers... I'm glad I'm gone.

Bottom line: they promote spammers. Harriet's no better than a hotviagrapills891, or some other such horseshit. Seriously. If they want useless spammers on their board, they're welcome to 'em. I'm here to have fun and interesting conversations with other people who enjoy horror and any of the silliness we all might get up to. I don't want someone cutting and pasting their countless and pathetic Amazon reviews and pushing interesting, worthwhile topics over to page two forcing you to hunt for them all the time. Deep breath... And I'm done.

I can't honestly believe that the REAL Harriet Klausner was posting on the leisure boards. If they have known her for YEARS as Don said, then why did she just start posting there recently?? Why hasn't she been posting there for YEARS? 
And I should think that anyone who posts reviews and goes on messageboards would have a little thicker skin and not be "in tears" over a few questions about her identity. And I don't understand why someone who loves books would go on a messageboard that discusses books and post threads...but then never respond to any of them! That is just pointless |

What's interesting is that "she" has started posting again over there, the very same day that Laurel pointed out that "she" hadn't done so since most of us left. Curious timing, I'd say. |
