I've been thinking on this some and have had trouble remembering a lot of the main characters from the horror books I've read. I think David Ash from James Herbert 's Haunted and The Ghosts of Sleath. He is a debunker of anything paranormal, who ends up drawing the attention of paranormal things. I know there are more but I'll have to delve deeper into thr ones I've read.

I thought about Repairman Jack, but I'm not sure I'd really call them horror novels. More action adventure type books. But yeah, Jack kicks ass. |
