Prodigal Blues by Gary Braunbeck is supposed to be extreme and, unless I'm mistaken(I haven't read it yet.), is non-supernatural. I don't know how strict you are with your second category, but Sarah Langan's The Missing was like that. |

Try A Terrible Beauty by Graham Masterton (if you like Ketchum-type horror), and Cuts just out also by Richard Laymon. Supernatural terror? Hmm... Fires Rising just out by Michael Laimo was one hell of a ride, read that if you haven't. The Town by Bentley Little was very weird, also Imajica by the great Clive Barker will have you waking up with some of the weirdest dreams you've ever had. Later!
