Not sure if everyone knew about this, but here's the site for Horror Selfies, run by the HWA, in an effort to promote the genre. You take a 'selfie' that includes a message encouraging folks to read horror/dark fiction. Stephen King did one, so did Peter Straub, Lisa Tuttle, Linda Addison...
You don't need to be an author, anyone can do this, but if you are, it's a good promo opportunity (pics go up on Pinterest etc). And, authors are donating books - and there's a chance to win a 100 of 'em. Go take a look, get some ideas of what folks have already done (my fave so far is Gary Braunbeck's).
