Your thought was not simple at all. Most of us carry an one image or thought in particular from that day that has stayed with us over the last 12 years. Something that makes us anxious, sad, or even frightened. Mine was the image of the man hanging onto the side of the building, then just letting go and falling to his death. It creeps into my mind occasionally, especially at night when I'm trying to go to sleep, and it makes me feel like my soul has weight. |

I remember watching all the emergency vehicles leaving Newark. Recently Hawaii 5-0 did a flash back sequence for one of the characters and recreated that - I lost it and cried for a half hour. You never know when it will creep from your subconscious to your conscious. For weeks afterwards I had nightmares. I remember leaving work with one of my co-workers who couldn't get back home to Long Island; as we sat at the light I looked out at a huge black column of smoke where the towers used to be. I seems like it only yesterday. |
